At Lazy Day, we believe that everyone, whether they have dietary restrictions or not, should be able to enjoy some delicious Halloween treats! Halloween is all about the fun of dressing up, watching spooky movies, and, of course, indulging in delicious sweets. But too often, those with dietary needs find themselves left out of the party. That’s why we’ve created some simple Halloween recipes using our Mini Vic Caterpillars and Belgian Chocolate Cake Bars – which are free from gluten, eggs, and dairy. These recipes are quick and easy to whip up with minimal skill and resources, perfect to share with your friends and family this Halloween.

Bat-erpillar Bites

Ingredients:

  • Lazy Day Mini Vic Caterpillars

  • Orange edible eyes

  • Free from biscuits or paper bat wings

  • Free from chocolate (for melting)

  • Red icing

Instructions: Place your Mini Vic on a plate ready to dress up. Break your free-from biscuit into two halves and use melted chocolate to attach the “bat wings” to each side of the caterpillar. You can switch out the biscuits for paper bat wings to make sure your bat-erpillar bites suit the dietary needs of your guests. Using more melted chocolate, stick on the orange edible eyes to give your bat its spooky face. Finally, draw a fang-tastic smile with the red icing pen, and you’ve got a bat-iful Halloween treat!

Tomb of Treats

Ingredients:

  • Lazy Day Belgian Chocolate Cake Bars

  • White icing or melted free-from white chocolate

  • White edible eyes

Instructions: Lay a Cake Bar flat on a plate. Using white icing or melted free-from white chocolate, create mummy "wraps" across the bar, making sure to cover it evenly. To bring your wrapped-up mummy to life, add some edible eyes on top. For an extra spooky touch, drizzle icing or chocolate in a spiderweb pattern.
